GLA-04 Wound Glass Beads
Wound glass beads are made by melting glass rods with the flame of a torch. The molten glass is wound around a mandrel where the artist shapes the bead by rotating the mandrel and using tools to manipulate the glass. Colors and patterns can be added by layering different colored glass or using decorative techniques like stringers (thin glass rods) and frit (crushed glass).
